FAQ

Get answers to common tire questions.

How do I buy tires from ApolloGrip Tires?

Use shop by vehicle or shop by size in our TireConnect finder. Choose your branch, compare the model and quantity, and review the quote and ordering steps. Confirm final fitment and installation arrangements with the selected branch.

What types of tires can I compare?

Explore winter, all-season, summer, performance, all-terrain and truck and SUV tires. Actual model and size availability is shown in the tire finder for your selected branch.

How do I find the tire size recommended for my vehicle?

Start with the tire information placard and owner’s manual. A code on an existing tire identifies what is currently fitted, which may differ from the approved fitment. Use the size finder after confirming your wheel setup. See Michelin Canada’s fitment guidance.

Does searching by vehicle guarantee the tire will fit?

The finder helps narrow the choices, but optional wheels, modifications and different front and rear sizes can affect fitment. Check the vehicle placard and current wheel setup, and ask your branch before ordering if anything is unclear.

Are installation and taxes included in the displayed tire price?

Review the quote details rather than assuming a tire price is the complete total. Ask about mounting, balancing, taxes, disposal, valves and TPMS work. Confirm which items apply to your vehicle and order.

Which tire brand lasts the longest?

Compare the specific model, intended season, specifications and written warranty terms. A brand name alone does not establish tread life or suitability. Our brand directory and buying guides help you prepare questions for your branch.

When should I plan a winter tire change?

Base the decision on weather, the tires fitted and your driving needs. Transport Canada recommends winter tires for cold, snowy or icy conditions and explains the mountain/snowflake symbol. Read Transport Canada’s winter tire guidance, then call your branch about installation availability.

Are winter tires generally mandatory in Ontario?

Ontario’s general winter-driving guidance recommends winter tires. Quebec’s December-to-March rule should not be presented as a general Ontario rule. Requirements can differ by vehicle class or licence. Check the current Ontario guidance and any rules for the places where you will drive. Ask your insurer about discounts and its eligibility conditions.

How do I know when a tire needs replacement?

Age, tread wear, damage and vehicle handling all matter. Follow the tire manufacturer’s inspection and replacement guidance and have the tire assessed when you are unsure. An online guide cannot establish its condition. Contact a branch about an inspection or replacement options.

Can a flat tire be repaired?

A tire professional must remove and inspect it before deciding. Damage location, size, condition, previous repairs and manufacturer restrictions affect the answer. Read our repair page and contact a branch; a repair is not guaranteed.

What is TPMS service?

TPMS means tire pressure monitoring system. Systems and service needs differ by vehicle. If there is a warning or you are changing wheels, ask about compatible sensor checks and any relearn procedure. See TPMS service.

Can I replace only two tires?

Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s matching requirements, especially for AWD and four-wheel drive, and have the remaining tires assessed. Michelin generally recommends placing a compatible new pair on the rear axle. Read Michelin’s matching guidance and confirm the arrangement with your branch.

What pressure should I use?

Use the recommended cold tire pressures on the vehicle placard or in the owner’s manual. The tire sidewall maximum is not the vehicle’s recommended setting. See Michelin Canada’s pressure guide.

Can I get mobile tire service?

Contact a branch before making arrangements. Confirm your location, vehicle, the work needed, access conditions and appointment availability. Our mobile service page explains what to ask.
